MP Meets Contact Centre Directors at CallNorthWest Sector Summit
24th March 2006
CallNorthWest was honoured to host a visit from the Right Honourable Alan Johnson, Secretary of State for Trade and Industry on 24th March 2006.
Mr Johnson’s first stop was Homeserve, the UK’s leading provider of insured repair solutions and emergency services to the home. Peter Rowbottom, International Operations Director, presented their achievements, including their move to their purpose built contact centre 18months ago. Mr Johnson met a number of the staff and was able to listen in to the types of calls the 800+ strong team receive on a daily basis.
Mr Johnson’s next stop was CallNorthWest where he met the team and attended the Directors Forum, in which 50 key contact centres were represented. He heard from Sir Martin Harris, Deputy Chair of NWDA, Malcolm McVicar, Vice Chancellor of UCLan and Alison Owen Chair of CNW’s Steering Committee. He also took part in an interactive debate and provided a sum up of the key issues that were raised before having lunch and networking with companies including Echo Managed Services and Carphone Warehouse.
Mr Johnson left CallNorthWest early afternoon and headed up the M6 to open Liberata’s new site in Barrow, Cumbria.
